Job Description

This full-time virtual position will support the senior paralegal and attorneys in the estate administration department for a growing law firm in New Jersey.

The duties for this role are:

1. Organizes file for estate administration
2. Follows and completes the firm’s estate administration task checklist keeping the senior paralegal and attorney informed of the steps in progress.
3. Calendars deadlines with a one week or one month reminder as required.
4. Weekly follow ups with financial institutions for Date of Death Valuation reports.
5. Prepares monthly status summaries for attorney to provide to client.
6. Gathers asset and liability information for preparation of tax forms.
7. Tracks assets and liabilities on client spreadsheet.
8. Track time on client matters into time and billing software for accurate record keeping for client billing.
9. Prepares informal and formal estate accountings.
10. Drafts letters to clients, beneficiaries, financial institutions, and state/ fed governments utilizing firm templates.
11. Drafts tax forms.
12. Drafts inheritance distribution documents.
13. Must meet a full-time billable hour requirement of 125 hrs/month.

This is a full-time salaried position where tasks and duties are expected to be performed for 40 hours per week. The salary for this position will be between $800-$1500 USD per month based on the candidate’s experience.

Applicants must exhibit significant experience or skills in the above listed duties. We are less concerned with your years of experience but more with the volume and variety of cases that you have handled. Your cover letter should detail this experience.
The ideal candidate will be able to take initiative on work that needs to be done and complete tasks with minimal handholding.
