Experienced Purchasing Manager Needed

We are looking to hire an experienced Purchasing Manager for our UK-based business. We sell health foods to businesses in the UK and Europe. We are looking for someone to initially work part-time (15-20 hours/week).

As a purchasing manager for our business, you will:

Manage purchasing and logistics side. We are looking for someone who has experience in both fields.

You will be responsible for:
the procurement of goods and services for the organization; This includes identifying and evaluating suppliers, negotiating contracts and prices, and managing relationships with vendors;
for creating a costing and attending to all quotes in timely manner,
for the effective and efficient management of the storage, movement, and distribution of goods, services, and information within the organization. This will include coordinating the transportation of goods, claiming damaged goods, managing inventory levels, and ensuring that orders are fulfilled in a timely and accurate manner.

You will need to have:

excellent oral and written communication skills;
strong analytical skills;
commercial awareness;
the ability to adapt to different colleagues and customer needs and to develop and maintain successful working relationships;
an excellent standard of numeracy to analyse facts and figures;
a flair for negotiation and networking;
the ability to make important decisions and cope with the pressure of demanding targets and tight deadlines;
a confident and mature approach;
tact and diplomacy.

The two most important things you need you to be good at are Communication and managing other people. You will manage two other employees and work together with the head of purchasing.
