Are you passionate about empowering students from diverse backgrounds to succeed in their coding journey? Skillspire, a leading coding bootcamp, is seeking an experienced Student Success Advisor to play a pivotal role in ensuring every student achieves their goals.
Key Responsibilities:
1) Goal Setting: Collaborate with students to define clear, achievable objectives for their cohort experience.
2) Bi-weekly Student Meetings: Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with students to provide guidance and support in their pursuit of set goals.
3) Attendance and Assignment Accountability: Hold students accountable for attendance and timely completion of assignments, fostering a culture of commitment and responsibility.
4) Feedback Collection: Solicit and compile feedback from students regarding the quality of instruction, class experiences, and support from both instructors and teaching assistants.
5) Personal Counseling: Offer empathetic guidance to students facing personal challenges, ensuring they have the resources and support they need to succeed.
6) Professional Guidance: Advise students on how to navigate their professional journey, including resume building, LinkedIn profile enhancement, and mock interviews.
7) Attendance Follow-up: Reach out to students promptly in case of class absence, ensuring they stay on track and don’t miss crucial learning opportunities.
8) Performance Support: Provide extra attention and resources to students struggling with the material, collaborating with Teaching Assistants to bolster their progress.
Qualifications:
1) Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within an educational or coding bootcamp setting.
2) Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build close relationships with students, understanding their unique backgrounds, strengths, and areas for improvement.
3) Exceptional organizational skills, ensuring that each student receives the personalized attention they need.
4) Familiarity with career services, including resume development, LinkedIn optimization, and conducting mock interviews.
5) Ability to collaborate effectively with business partners and maintain relationships that facilitate student placement in jobs and internships.
6) Proficiency in community management, particularly in online platforms like Discord, to foster a supportive and vibrant learning environment.
