We are currently seeking a talented web developer to assist with the ongoing maintenance and improvement of our website.
Our site is currently managed by uploading raw scripts via FTP, and we need a professional with experience in this area as well as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other web technologies to ensure that our website remains functional, up-to-date, and optimised for our users.
Key Responsibilities:
Regularly update website content and graphics
Monitor website performance, identify problems, and fix any issues that arise
Optimise our website for search engines and ensure the website adheres to SEO best practices
Maintain a consistent look and feel throughout all web properties
Implement and maintain tracking with web analytics tools
Work with raw scripts and FTP uploads to manage the website
Continually learn and apply relevant new technologies that can improve our website’s performance
Prepare for and assist with an eventual migration to WordPress
Required Skills and Experience:
Proficient knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
Experience with managing websites by uploading raw scripts via FTP
Understanding of meta tags and their importance for SEO and social sharing
Experience working with external APIs and libraries (e.g., Google Fonts, jQuery)
Experience with web analytics tools (e.g., Hotjar)
Understanding of SEO principles and ability to implement them effectively
Skills in web performance optimisation techniques
Familiarity with creating responsive designs that work across various devices
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Strong communication skills and ability to work independently
Desirable Skills:
Experience with WordPress, especially in migrating a non-WordPress site to the WordPress platform
