Are you an experienced WordPress (plugin) developer with an affinity for WooCommerce? Then we’re in need of you. Our team develops custom high-end WordPress plugins and sites and we’re in need of some extra help.

As a WordPress developer you will be working for Tussendoor, a well known Agency in The Netherlands. We supply a wide range of custom plugins and provide unique and high-quality custom WordPress solutions. As a developer you will be part of our development team and you will discuss with your colleagues on a daily basis

We are looking for someone who wants to be part of the best WordPress team there is in The Netherlands.

The following skills are required for this position:

General programming
– Excellent knowledge of PHP.
– Strong skills in HTML/CSS/Javascript and jQuery.
– Aware of PSR-2, PSR-4, and PSR-12.
– Adheres to conventions and ensures proper documentation of code.
– Understands object-oriented programming.
– Aware of DRY & Single Responsibility Principle.
– Knowledge of version control such as GIT/Bitbucket.
– Ability to quickly understand others’ code, even when it is not documented.
– Proficient in debugging code.
– Knows how to maintain a changelog.

WordPress
– In-depth understanding of WordPress; experience with custom themes and plugins is a plus.
– Experienced in enhancing and expanding existing functionalities on WordPress websites.
– Deep substantive knowledge of how to use ajax in WordPress.
– Deep substantive knowledge of how hooks and filters work in WordPress.
– Deep substantive knowledge of sanitizing and escaping data in WordPress.

WooCommerce
– Knowledge of the WooCommerce plugin in general.
– Knowledge of WooCommerce hooks & filters.
– Knowledge of the information flow through WooCommerce, think of setting up a product, VAT rules, and shipping costs, etc.
– Knowledge of custom WooCommerce themes, how do you work with WooCommerce templates in your own theme?

Communication
– Fluent in English (writing and speaking), both in explaining solutions and understanding technical problems.
– Independent in devising solutions for problems, and proactive in seeking additional information when needed.
– Able to clearly explain the reasoning behind chosen solutions.
– Capable of making technical concepts/issues understandable to those with less technical knowledge.
– You will be available on weekdays via Slack, mail and other communication apps. We are aware of time differences, but we – want to keep those hours as close as possible. Preferably we have an overlap of at least four hours per working day.
