Are you a top-level master Quickbooks Online expert and know it more than well enough to teach others how to use it?

Are you able to take a Quickbooks Online account and fix mistakes because the owner(s) didn’t know how to properly categorize accounts and made a mess of the accounting?

If you enjoy an accounting challenge, as well as having a say in how things are performed, this is a great position. If you don’t enjoy fixing problems without guidance, this isn’t.

We’re seeking a long-term person to perform in-house bookkeeping and accounting, as well as service our clients who subscribe to Quickbooks Online and have various amounts of knowledge and/or require different amounts of hand holding through our office

Our must have requirement is to be ProAdvisor certified and three years experience working with Quickbooks Online. At a minimum, two years of formal accounting education, albeit a strong preference will be towards a candidate with a four year accounting degree or more.

Must have a strong understanding of paying commission to contractor agents, trust fund liabilities, and be able to lead and direct other office staff (via skype, zoom, and other remote tools) what and how to do entries using best practices. Previous auditing experience is highly desired.

In short, we’re looking for someone who can take charge, give direction (and not require it), requires zero training, and make sure every aspect of our accounting and books is highly professional and of the highest standards.

A successful candidate will have two or more monitors connected to their modern computer, high speed internet, and the ability to work in a (very) quiet distraction-free home environment using remote desktop technology DURING CHICAGO BUSINESS HOURS.

Proficient, experienced, and competent use of Google Sheets and Excel a must, including complex formulas and data manipulation across various interlocking and connected sheets is required.

All office staff connect using Skype to talk and “stay connected” in real time. All work is performed on local office computers and manipulated using remote desktop software connected to your computer.

For the right candidate who doesn’t want to work full time, a minimum availability of 20 hours a week is required, however, a strong preference will be given to someone dedicated to this one position and available least 30 hours per week.

In order to ensure proper communication with staff and management, availability Mon-Fri between 830 AM to 2 PM (Chicago) at a minimum will be an ongoing requirement.

We offer you the ability to work from home, take a management role in a growing small business involved in real estate, insurance, accounting, and legal services. Sick vacation time, and pay compensation in relation to the time-zone worked.

STARTING AND TRAINING COMPENSATION IS $9 per hour, with one week of sick/vacation time per year. Pay is increased to $11 per hour after 520 working hours (about 90 full-time days). Increase in compensation then based on abilities and efficiencies. Subject to the minimum hours per week limits above, our new lead accountant will have the option to work as much as 35+ hours per week.

Payment is made twice a month, using Paypal (staff member bears transaction expense, albeit while paid based in US Dollars, the staff member has the option of Dollars or Pesos).
