Hello Shopify Developers!
My name is William, and I am the manager of a Shopify conversion and experience agency. We create, design, optimize, and support all aspects of Shopify for customers, mainly in the Home Decor & Fashion industries.
We are looking to hire a motivated, solutions-oriented Shopify Developer with experience confidently optimizing Shopify stores for Pagespeed.
Ideally, you have the ability to assist in applying innovative ideas in creating and developing solutions that cater to our client’s needs while working in an agile and collaborative environment with great personal organization and time management skills.
You’ll become a part of our team, joining weekly standups, researching and continuously improving our code quality, and ensuring we stay on the cutting edge of Shopify tech.
# We are looking for a Shopify Developer with these requirements:
– A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Shopify Developer with a focus on speed optimization
– Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
– Independent freelance status – no agencies, teams, or support personnel.
– Strong knowledge of HTML5/Liquid, CSS3, JavaScript, and related frameworks
– Proficiency in back-end languages such as Ruby and PHP (for Shopify Plus)
– Mastery of advanced Shopify functions, including Shopify Scripts
– Adept in the latest Shopify theme development practices and methodology
– Familiarity with cross-device and browser compatibility and responsive web design
– Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks efficiently
– Please share related experiences in your proposal
– Familiarity with headless development and Shopify stores (Hydrogen/Tailwind)
– Passion for building Shopify Apps (planned expansion in 2023)
– Availability to work during US Eastern Standard Time hours – close proximity to the time zone preferred.
# Your responsibility will include (but not limited to):
– Manage multiple Shopify stores for clients from a development perspective.
– Collaborating with the team through Slack and ClickUp to manage ongoing projects
– Providing regular updates on task progress
– Offering opinions and recommendations on project implementation and limitations
– Developing a deployment plan that does not disrupt sales or current workflows
– Utilizing Github for version control
– Performing theme performance audits and identifying/resolving slowdowns.
Our first assignment would be to improve the speed of 5+ client stores. (we do not use apps to improve store speed, we prefer to do it manually)
If you’re interested, please add the word “speed” at the beginning of your cover letter.
Thank you for taking the time to consider this position. I look forward to reading your proposal and hopefully working together!
