Job Description

We are currently seeking a highly skilled WordPress developer who can demonstrate their expertise in various aspects of website development and maintenance. This position requires an individual with a strong understanding of WordPress and the ability to effectively assist with basic page updating and maintenance tasks.

As a WordPress developer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our website runs smoothly and efficiently. You will be responsible for updating content, adding new pages, and implementing necessary changes to enhance the overall user experience. Your proficiency in WordPress development will be utilized to its fullest extent as you tackle a variety of tasks aimed at improving our website’s functionality and aesthetics.

In addition to your WordPress knowledge, a solid understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is required. Your familiarity with these programming languages will allow you to successfully troubleshoot any issues that may arise and make necessary adjustments to ensure optimal performance.

Attention to detail is paramount in this role, as you will be responsible for ensuring that all updates and changes are implemented accurately and effectively. Your ability to meet deadlines and provide regular progress reports will contribute to the overall success of our website.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Website Management
-Install, configure, maintain, and decommission WordPress websites and associated plugins.
-Create, maintain, and decommission customer accounts.
-Ensure website performance, security, and SEO optimization.
-Design websites for optimal customer outcomes.
-Perform routine checks and maintenance to ensure proper website functionality (weekly).
-Upload and format blog content as provided by IronLink Logistics (as needed, typically weekly or bi-weekly).
-Conduct security audits to identify and fix vulnerabilities (weekly).
-Update all website plugins to their latest versions (monthly or as updates are released).
-Perform regular backups and ensure secure storage and quick restoration if needed (weekly for backups, immediate for recovery).
-Update WordPress core software to the latest version (monthly or as updates are released).
-Identify and fix broken links and errors on the website (monthly).
-Optimize website speed and load times (quarterly).
-Implement UI/UX improvements to enhance user experience (quarterly).
-Implement SEO best practices to improve website visibility and ranking (monthly).
-Monitor and update Google Analytics data to track website performance and user behavior (monthly).
-Test and ensure all pages and features of the website are functioning correctly (monthly).

Technical Skills:
-Install appropriate plugins based on client needs.
-Follow best practices for updating themes and plugins, including performance and caching management and security measures.
-Wide knowledge of maintaining Google Analytics (GA4) and with link to Google Ads.
-Troubleshoot WordPress issues and perform performance optimizations (including page speed and image optimization).
-Employ mobile-first design principles and maintain aesthetically pleasing website designs.
-Use Git for source control and manage local/server WordPress synchronization.
-Familiarity with CPanel account management, including setup and configuration of accounts, backups, staging websites, DNS setup, and email routing.
-Manage email account creation and maintenance.
-Conduct basic graphic design and image manipulation, with experience in Photoshop and Illustrator being advantageous.
-Utilize the DIVI WordPress theme and manage WooCommerce for WordPress.
-Perform site migrations and manage CPanel and DirectAdmin.

Bonus Attributes:
-Build custom plugins for WordPress.
-Implement custom JavaScript and WordPress PHP functions.
-Apply Search Engine Optimization using tools like Yoast.

-Must be available during AEST working hours, and whenever an urgent need is required for the website.
