We are a growing e-commerce start-up specializing in Pokémon and Yugioh trading cards and collectibles, is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented bookkeeper/accountant to join our small team. In this role, you’ll play a crucial part in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance, and providing weekly insights into the company’s financial performance. I have vending machines and looking to expand but I need someone on the finance side to help with helping us grow and be profitable.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Monitoring vending machine cashflow and giving budgets for stock based on sales.
Maintain precise financial records for e-commerce transactions across various platforms (eBay, Shopify), including recording and reconciling sales, expenses, and other transactions in Xero.
Analyze financial data (CSV, Excel, PDF) to generate reports and provide insights into profitability, margins, operational efficiency, and other key performance indicators (KPIs).
Identify and implement process improvements to streamline accounting workflows, enhance productivity, and reduce costs.
Manage budgets for inventory, overhead, and marketing based on sales data.
Prepare comprehensive financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement) regularly.
Provide insightful financial analysis to support strategic decision-making, such as profitability analysis, margin analysis, and return on investment (ROI) calculations.
REQUIREMENTS:
3+ years of proven experience as a Bookkeeper in an e-commerce setting.
Proficiency in Xero and Hubdoc (a bonus).
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including Power Query, Pivot Tables, Macros, and data visualizations.
Strong financial statement preparation, auditing, and strategic recommendation skills.
Excellent numerical, analytical, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Knowledge of e-commerce platforms like eBay and Shopify.
Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in financial activities.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify trends, anomalies, and address complex financial challenges.
Excellent time management skills, including the ability to provide accurate deadlines and allow time for review and revision.
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Laptop/Computer with at least 8GB RAM.
Fast and stable internet connection (at least 10 Mbps).
