Job Description

Seeking a Financial Accountant who can audit, analyze and optimize financial data and processes for a US-based parcel shipping logistics company. You should have excellent English communication skills and a professional attitude. Successful candidates must have access to an adequate computer for the first three months before the company will provide a company-owned computer, with a recent version of Excel and enough memory to allow installing security and monitoring software from day one.

Responsibilities
– Prospective Sales Data Analysis: Analyze data from external invoices in various formats (CSV, Excel, PDF) to determine rates, fees, and discounts of the prospective client and determine if our sales team can beat those with our own rates.
– Produce Comparative Sales Data: Includes running quotes in proprietary software and manipulating dependencies (ex: discounts and percentages) to produce the required projections.
– Audit Billing Data: Conduct weekly audits on billing data for thousands of customer shipments to ensure the accuracy of information and proactively identify and rectify any errors or discrepancies that could potentially impact margins or result in unexpected charges. – Run Monthly Commission Reports: Translating complex sales data into disbursements for the sales staff. Ensure that commission calculations align with company policies and sales performance metrics.
– Process Optimization and Automation: Implement optimization strategies for audit and report processes, streamlining workflows, and ensuring efficiency. Develop and apply automation techniques in Excel to eliminate repetitive tasks, enhancing the accuracy and speed of regularly performed processes.
– Regular Reporting and Review: Report and explain financial data and audit results to management regularly. Provide insights for decision-making and improve financial presentations based on feedback
– Ad Hoc Analysis: Conduct ad hoc financial analysis as requested to address specific inquiries or to provide deeper insights into particular areas of interest. (Ex: Specific customer billing question.)
– Financial Information Presentation: Create comprehensive reports, charts, and graphs to effectively communicate financial and business trends to management.
– QuickBooks Management: Record transactions, perform reconciliations, manage accounts payable/receivable, generate financial reports, assist in tax preparation, and support budgeting and forecasting.
– Collaborative Insights: Work with cross-functional team and outsourced accounting firm to report and integrate financial and operational data. Review and ensure cohesive financial management.

Requirements
– Proven experience in accurately preparing and analyzing financial statements, and reports. Experience in conducting audits and providing strategic recommendations to enhance overall financial performance.
– Preferred 3-5 years of relevant experience within a business services environment.
– Higher education in finance/accounting.
– Meticulous attention to detail in all financial activities to ensure accuracy and precision.
– Strong analytical skills to identify financial trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement. Proactive problem-solving approach to address complex financial problems and implement effective financial controls.
– Profound Excel skills are a must, including Power Query, Pivot Tables, Macros, and data visualizations.
– Experience with QuickBooks
– Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
– Adept at interpreting financial data to provide meaningful insights for informed decision-making.
– Excellent time management skills, including the ability to provide accurate deadlines based on an assessment of the task difficulty, workload, and leaving time for review and revision.
– Task management ability to organize and update to provide transparency in following work tasks and accountability.
– Adept at learning new platforms for data retrieval and ticketing.
– Collaborative team player willing to contribute to the broader goals of the finance team.
– Flexible and responsive to changing needs with various accounting tasks and projects.
