Job Opportunity: Finance and Accounting Manager

Location: Woodbridge, Virginia (Hybrid or Remote)
Type: Part-time, Non-exempt (Hourly)
Hours: Approximately 10-20 hours/week (Potential to move to full-time)
Reports to: Director of Operations
Pay Range: Monthly or Hourly (Based on experience)

Overview:
SYNERJE Global, a U.S. Small Business (SDB) headquartered in Washington D.C, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Finance Manager to join our growing team, the Finance Manager will collaborate directly with the Operations, procurements, and supply chain Team to oversee accounting and financial functions for SYNERJE teams.

Main Responsibilities:

Ensure timeliness and accuracy of financial reports.
Implement accounting systems for compliance with financial reporting standards.
Manage overseas sales business processes.
Lead cost accounting and cost analysis, assist in achieving annual business goals.
Organize annual budget preparation, track and report on budget execution, and report on target profit achievement.
Manage tax execution and compliance, working under the guidance of the group’s tax team and independently.
Coordinate internal and external audit work.

Expansion of Previous Responsibilities from Corporate Accountant Role to Management:

Department and General Management Roles:

Monitor daily financial operations.
Establish department-level guidelines based on research and interpretation of regulatory and internal policies.
Manage accounting staff responsible for financial reporting, billing, collections, payroll, and budget preparation.
Suggest and coordinate training programs for new and current staff.
Monitor and regulate workforce time accounting reporting.
Ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements.
Review and manage data policies for finance.
Planning and Corporate Management Roles:

Plan tax strategies throughout the fiscal year and file annual corporate tax return.
Meet financial objectives through forecasting, budget preparation, and strategic planning.
Authorize release of financial information to internal operational staff or external parties.
Accounting and Tax Management Roles:
Establish internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions and budget preparation.
Implement continuous process improvement for the finance department.
Report financial status by monitoring revenue and expenses, coordinating data collection, and preparing special reports.
Handle customer relations for software, accounting, and payroll.
Manage payroll processes and tax concerns.
Communicate and handle errors, requests, and backend support on payroll data and QuickBooks transactions.
Operate in a paperless environment using financial dashboards and various accounting software.
Additional Responsibilities:
Corporate governance and shareholder transactions.
Process modeling and improvement.
Liaison with external audit and cross-border expansion proposals.
Tax publications, analysis, implementation of changes, and documentation.
Reporting review and IFRS standard matching.
Comprehensive difference tracking on tax, IFRS, U.S Government and internal reporting standards.
Tax options and savings.
Comprehensive projections reporting.
Records and update of supplier data.
Process guide creation for internal software development.
Testing newly deployed software for expected features and functionality.
Operation in a paperless system, utilizing financial dashboards and various accounting software.

Qualifications:
Relevant experience and qualification requirements, including CPA, QuickBooks, SAP, etc.
Bachelor’s degree or above in a finance-related field.
Minimum of 10 years of financial and accounting work experience, with at least 3 years of team management experience.
Fluent in English, preferably with a background in a multinational company.
Strong understanding of accounting standards.

Responsibilities Summary:
The Finance Manager at SYNERJE Global supports the company and its clients by:
Developing and overseeing financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Conducting general accounting and reporting.
Managing accounting records, including receivables, payables, and the chart of accounts.
Preparing financial documents and reports.
Overseeing collections.
Coordinating annual audits.
Ensuring compliance with government regulations.
Monitoring the annual operations budget.
Providing budget oversight at macro and line-item levels.
Communicating key budget information to relevant constituencies.
Managing the financial record-keeping system.
Coordinating annual audits for both SYNERJE and clients.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s or advanced degree in accounting.
Five years of experience in U.S standard accounting.
CPA designation is a plus.
Prior experience with QuickBooks accounting system is a plus.

Organizational skills – when data is organized, it can be properly utilized, a recipe for business to scale.
CPA and CTT designation, combined in finance and accounting, transform manual processes into scalable automated and cloud-based systems.
