We seek a detail-oriented and organised Administration or Finance Manager/Officer to join our team and contribute to our mission of pushing the boundaries of science.

Position Description:
As a Finance Officer at Our company, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial accuracy and tax compliance of our and the client’s finance lodgements. You will collaborate closely with others within the company to support their administrative or finance needs and contribute to the overall success of our organisation. You will also be given opportunities to lead initiatives and present yourself.

Key Responsibilities:
• (Main focus) Xero setup and maintenance (inc setup chart of accounts, payroll & super management);
• (Secondary) Finance: bank account reconciliation;
• (Tertiary) Corporate Governance: Assist in company incorporation, preparing board/members’ resolutions using the template provided;
• Provide operational support to various departments, including corporate governance, business development and finance.
• Keep up to date with ATO/Budget releases and alert;
• Budget forecast and prepare management reports & advice;
• Handle incoming and outgoing communications, both digital and physical, ensuring prompt and professional responses.

Record Keeping (in Lark):
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and databases, including employee records, financial data, and other business confidential information.
• Assist in document management, filing, and archiving to ensure data integrity and accessibility.
Qualifications and Past Experience:
Essential:
• Solid experience in AUSTRALIAN financial operations and accounting/bookkeeping
• A master’s/bachelor’s degree in corporate finance, accounting, business administration or a related field.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. Successful candidates will be required to pass a policy check.
• Proficiency in office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite) and the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software tools such as Lark Suite, Airtable and Wechat.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
• Able to comply with company policies and procedures as appropriate.
• A proactive and self-motivated individual who can work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

Strong Preference:
• Candidates who can read, speak and write in Mandarin.
• Previous experience in biotech or life science industry
• Previous experience relating to ASIC/corporate governance, R&D tax incentives
