JOB OVERVIEW

The Financial Analyst will play a crucial role in ensuring the organization’s financial sustainability by efficiently managing day-to-day financial operations, including financial reporting, modeling, projections, analysis, and compliance. This position involves providing analytical support for strategic initiatives and is integral to the finance and accounting team, reporting directly to the President. The organization exclusively serves the construction and service-based trades.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Budgeting and Forecasting:

– Gain a thorough understanding of the organization’s funding models, seeking opportunities for improvement and modernization.
– Assist in the monthly and annual budgeting process, collaborating with operations and controllers to develop initial budgets.
– Lead the utilization and enhancement of budgeting and modeling tools, exploring new solutions.
– Analyze monthly financial reports and offer recommendations based on trends and insights.
– Work closely with operations and controllers to refine monthly forecasts and develop tools for sharing financial information with stakeholders.

Support to President and Operations:

– Provide support to the President and operations with minimal direction, demonstrating self-initiated follow-through to complete tasks accurately and timely, even amidst interruptions or distractions.

Reporting and Analysis:

– Collaborate with the Director of Finance to enhance multi-year projection models, covering income statements, balance sheets, and cash flows.
– Conduct standard and ad hoc analyses, delivering reports on financial and operational aspects to management.
– Partner with operations and controllers to achieve financial sustainability, identifying key variances and developing strategies for improvement.
– Lead and participate in annual continuous improvement projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

– Perform financial analysis using various methods such as trend, variance, and ratio analysis.
– Develop financial models to forecast future performance and identify potential risks or opportunities.
– Prepare and present reports on findings and recommendations to senior management.
– Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and provide financial insights for decision-making.
– Monitor industry trends and market conditions to inform recommendations regarding investments or business strategies.
– Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial plans.
– Conduct cost-benefit analysis for potential projects or investments.
– Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
– Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and improvement opportunities.
– Perform variance analysis and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
– Deeply understand the reporting capabilities of the various platforms that house the information we need.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification is advantageous.
QBO Certification
3 years of professional experience in accounting or finance.
Proficiency in QuickBooks preferred.
Financial modeling and data analysis – excellent proficiency
Strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
Excellent communication, verbal and written. Create the presentation story (You will not be required to present to clients)
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Highly organized with the capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Eagerness to learn and grow in a dynamic finance environment.
