Job Description

We are looking to hire a dedicated and professional individual who can help us build and run a step-by-step process for underwriting (analyzing) commercial real estate investment opportunities (mostly multifamily and storage properties). I do have some underwriting training courses that can be used to help you build this process. Once the process has been built, it needs to be tested for accuracy and then you will be using it and updating it on an ongoing basis to analyze potential real estate investment deals. This includes watching training videos and reading about the subject of underwriting, creating an Xcel spreadsheet that can be used to analyze deals, creating and updating a step-by-step process to follow. To be successful in this role, you will need excellent process creation skills, a deep understanding of Microsoft Xcel, be detail oriented, have critical thinking skills and the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Objectives:
Produce a well-researched step-by-step process for underwriting commercial real estate investment opportunities.
Create/update an underwriting spreadsheet that will be used to collect and formulate critical data used for deal analysis.
Collecting and inputing market data from reports that will be used for making financial projections.
Use critical thinking to scrutinize data to ensure the numbers are accurate and conservative.
Be resourceful in acquiring the necessary data.
Perform market research to determine investment suitability.
Perform research to gain an understanding the commercial real estate industry.
Information/data added should be checked twice for accuracy.
Ensure there is a proper structure and flow to the process.
Be able to take constructive feedback where needed to produce the best results.
Take ownership and personal responsibility in the process and the product that you are creating.
Create some shortcuts and rules of thumb used to shorten the process after a few months.

Qualifications Needed:
Excellent communication skills in English are essential
1-2 years experience Xcel spreadsheet use is required
Understanding of how to do market research.
Must be well-organized
Preferably has financial analysis background
Commercial real estate knowledge is preferred but not required
