Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or MBA preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years of accounting and finance experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity and experience with US accounting
• Strong experience in real estate or a related industry with multiple subsidiaries is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in accounting software, databases, and systems.
• Excellent analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to articulate financial information to non-finance professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Oversight:
• Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems, ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain internal control safeguards for the receipt of revenue, costs, and both team and organizational budgets and actual expenditures.
• Coordinate all audit activities and manage relationships with external auditors and accounting services.
2. Reporting and Compliance:
• Prepare timely and detailed reports on financial performance on a quarterly and annual basis.
• Ensure legal and regulatory compliance regarding all financial functions.
• Manage the preparation and publication of departmental and organizational financial documents.
• Collaborate with CFO in the development of financial reporting materials and metrics for the Board of Directors.
3. Budgeting and Forecasting:
• Lead the annual budgeting process and regularly monitor the financial status and health of the company.
• Develop and utilize forward-looking, predictive models and financial analyses to provide insight into the organization’s operations and business plans.
4. Operational Management:
• Manage the accounting team to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner.
• Streamline accounting processes and operations for efficiency and effectiveness.
• Oversee tax planning and compliance with federal, state, and local corporate, payroll, and other applicable taxes.
5. Strategic Involvement:
• Participate in key decisions as a member of the executive management team.
• Engage the finance committee of the board of directors to develop short-, medium-, and long-term financial plans and projections.
• Represent the company to financial partners, including financial institutions, investors, auditors, public officials, etc.
