Job Description

The FM is responsible for managing the financial actions of the family office. This includes tracking cash flow and financial planning as well as analyzing the office’s financial strengths and weaknesses and proposing corrective actions. The FM also ensures compliance with tax laws and regulatory requirements, manages investor relations, and oversees the financial reporting and risk management of the family office.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management:

Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Ensure the quality of financial transactions and reporting.
Manage cash flow and forecasting; develop a reliable cash flow projection process and reporting mechanism.
Optimize the handling of banking relationships and initiate appropriate strategies to enhance cash position.

Budgeting and Planning:

Develop and execute financial strategy and planning, including risk management and investment strategies.
Prepare budgets in collaboration with the executive team and department heads and monitor budget variances.
Provide strategic recommendations to enhance financial performance and new business opportunities.

Compliance and Control:

Ensure compliance with statutory law and financial regulations.
Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.

Tax Planning:

Oversee the tax planning strategy to optimize the family’s tax burden.
Work closely with external tax advisors and internal teams to ensure proper compliance and filing of all tax forms.

Investor Relations:

Develop and maintain relationships with potential and existing investors.
Oversee the production of all financial reports and statements required for investor communications.
Provide insights and recommendations based on financial analysis and projections, market trends, and business conditions.

Risk Management:

Analyze and manage the risks to the family’s assets, including financial, operational, and reputational risk.
Ensure adequate insurance coverage for all aspects of the family’s business and personal holdings.

Leadership and Team Management:

Mentor and develop a high-performance finance team.
Provide training to non-finance personnel regarding the financial procedures and policies of the family office.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; an MBA or CPA is highly preferred.
Extensive experience in financial management and accounting, ideally within a family office, investment firm, or similar complex financial entity.
Strong understanding of tax strategies, compliance, and personal finance related to wealth management.
Excellent communication, leadership, and planning skills.

Skills:

Strategic thinking and strong analytical skills.
High proficiency in financial software and Excel.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
