Company Overview: We are a leading provider of fire alarm and safety systems, servicing the New York Metro Area. Our company is committed to delivering high-quality solutions that meet the stringent safety standards of our clients.

Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled Fire Alarm Estimator to join our team remotely. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting our Sales team by reviewing fire alarm plans and conducting takeoffs for new projects. This role involves using software tools like Countfire to analyze plans, counting symbols, and generating reports to determine the required fire alarm panels and associated equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
• Review fire alarm plans provided by electrical contractor customers for new projects.
• Utilize Countfire to accurately count symbols on plans.
• Generate Excel spreadsheets from Countfire outputs to tally totals and price up Edwards fire alarm panels (IO, EST 3x, EST, EST 4).
• Analyze plans and determine the appropriate panel configuration based on types of devices, control/monitor equipment, and notification devices specified.
• Enter takeoff quantities into Cosential CRM to generate accurate project quotes.
• Collaborate with Sales team members to provide accurate estimates and support bid preparation.
• Maintain detailed records and documentation of all estimates and project specifications.
• Coordinate with internal teams to ensure accurate and timely completion of project estimates.

Requirements:
• Proven experience in fire alarm system estimation or similar role within the fire detection industry.
• Proficiency in using Countfire or equivalent software for plan takeoffs and symbol counting.
• Strong understanding of fire alarm systems, devices, and panel configurations (Edwards panels preferred).
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in estimating and pricing.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with remote teams.
• Experience with Excel and other relevant software for data analysis and reporting.
• Availability for training during 8am-12pm EST for the initial weeks of onboarding.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Certification or training in fire alarm systems or related field.
• Experience working with international teams or remote work environments.
• Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to fire alarm systems.
• Knowledge of code compliance under NFPA 72 Code.

Additional Note:

Flexibility: Initially, this position requires approximately 20 hours per week for estimating tasks. As competency is demonstrated and business growth occurs, there will be opportunities for increased hours and compensation.
