Forward-thinking, fast growing company looking to hire a FRACTIONAL CFO/ACCOUNTANT with strong knowledge and understanding of financial management and data reporting. You are an expert in Quickbooks and interpreting financial data.
Responsibilities:
The FRACTIONAL CFO/ACCOUNTANT position provides accurate, up-to-date financial information about our business and each of it’s branches. They’re always taking the pulse on our business.
CORE DUTIES:
· Data entry: Recording financial transactions and balancing the books.
· Bank reconciliation: Monthly cross-referencing the books against bank statements and other source documents to confirm accuracy for multiple bank accounts and business branches.
· Organization: Maintain an orderly automated accounting filing system.
· Budgeting & Strategy: Building and maintaining quarterly and annual budgets and advising on how to improve the business financial health. For example:
– What are the 3 non-obvious most scary things you see in the numbers?
– What are the 3 non-obvious most exciting things you see in the numbers?
· Monthly reports: Summarizing the business’s financial position. Provide information and financial reports. For example:
– All Branches: Profit & Loss, Cash Flow, Balance Sheet
– Institute: Mission Impact + impact in financial eco-system
– Foundation: content engagement + share rates, donor funds, admin costs, progress of research, translation of research to content, how content moves into other branches, utilization of content used outside the institute
– Community: engagement, # + rate students initiating content, how to validate learning (surveys/assessments), new community members per month, where are they coming from
– Workshops: student wealth codes, new students per course, customer acquisition cost (leads to calls + number of calls to sales), effective rev channels, net promoter score, revenue, expenses, customer life cycle, turnover/retention % + why, profitability, student impact (revenue % increase), customer type
ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
· Accounts receivable (and credit control): Creating and sending invoices, and following up to get them paid. (when needed)
· Accounts payable: Making sure invoices from suppliers are accurate and paid in a timely manner. Prepare A/R report.
· Assets: Tag and monitor fixed assets
· Chart of Accounts: Maintain the chart of accounts.
· Compliance: Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements.
· Meetings: Bi-Monthly meeting to report on and discuss high level findings, considerations, and make suggested improvements.
· Guidance: to increase profitability and cash flow.
· Payroll: Calculating pay and deductions. (when the time comes)
ADVANCED DUTIES:
· End of year reporting: Assisting with annual income statement and balance sheet reports for tax purposes.
· Business process: Reviewing, researching and implementing software solutions and internal controls to streamline the business and enhance performance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· The person for this position should have 5 – 10 years experience in bookkeeping, accounting and a minimum of 2 – 3 years as a fractional CFO.
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent ideal.
· Up-to-date working knowledge of bookkeeping and generally accepted accounting principles.
· Strong working knowledge of Quickbooks and other software systems like Dropbox, Genius Scan and Google Drive, Slack, Asana, etc.
