Role Summary:
The Outsourced Financial Director (FD) will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial operations of Donelan Property. This role involves strategic financial planning, risk management, and providing financial leadership to support our growth and profitability. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience, particularly in financial forecasting and modelling, and have a strong strategic mindset to address our cashflow challenges and support our franchise development.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Strategy and Planning:
– Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with our business objectives, particularly focusing on the franchise model.
– Conduct financial forecasting, budgeting, and analysis to inform strategic decisions and address cashflow challenges.
– Provide insights and recommendations to the executive team on financial performance and growth opportunities.
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
– Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and other financial documents.
– Conduct detailed financial analysis and present findings to senior management and stakeholders.
– Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements, particularly those relevant to the franchise model and property industry.
Risk Management and Compliance:
– Identify and mitigate financial risks to the organisation.
– Ensure robust internal controls are in place to safeguard company assets.
– Oversee compliance with financial regulations and legal requirements.
Operational Efficiency:
– Evaluate and improve financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
– Monitor and manage cash flow, working capital, and liquidity to ensure the company’s financial stability.
– Provide financial oversight for key projects and initiatives, especially related to franchise expansion.
Leadership and Collaboration:
– Work closely with the CEO and operations managers of each company to drive financial performance and strategic initiatives.
– Collaborate with the CEO, who currently manages payment reconciliations within Xero, and the external accountant who handles VAT returns and payroll.
Qualifications and Experience:
Education:
– Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
– Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CIMA) is highly desirable.
Experience:
– Minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior financial management role, preferably as a Financial Director or CFO.
– Proven track record in financial planning, analysis, and strategic decision-making.
– Experience in the property management or maintenance industry is essential.
– Experience with the franchise business model and companies with a turnover up to £500,000 is essential.
Skills and Competencies:
