We are a small company specializing in creating and distributing short startup diligence reports for early-stage investor communities. We recently lost a team member who developed our website entirely on . Our remaining team requires immediate assistance to understand the website’s structure and ensure it remains fully functional within the next week.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a freelance web developer to join our team on short notice and take on the responsibility of understanding the current state of our website, making necessary adjustments to ensure functionality, and mapping out the site’s structure for future reference. The primary focus is to meet a specific deadline on Monday, 11/13/23. The necessary content has been developed (for both mobile and desktop), but our remaining team is uncertain how it is structured.
Key Responsibilities:
• Quickly learn and understand the existing website, its design, and functionality.
• Ensure that the website is fully operational, addressing any issues or bugs as needed, to meet the upcoming deadline.
• Collaborate with our team to extract and document the current website’s structure and logic, with a specific emphasis on understanding and optimizing the database layout.
• Provide guidance and knowledge transfer to our team members, enabling them to work within the site effectively.
• Assist in documenting the website’s backend, database structure, and any necessary third-party integrations.
• Make recommendations for improvements or long-term solutions, especially in transitioning the site to a maintenance mode.
Qualifications:
• Strong experience with development.
• Proficiency in web development, including front-end and back-end development.
• Ability to quickly grasp complex web applications and troubleshoot issues.
• Strong communication skills to work collaboratively with our team.
• Problem-solving skills and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
• Availability to work intensively on the project to meet the deadline.
Additional Information:
• This is a freelance, short-term contract position.
• The deadline for completion is Monday, 11/13/23
• While this is an urgent requirement, there is potential for future collaboration on long-term website maintenance and improvements as the site transitions to maintenance mode.
• Access to existing content, screenshots, and necessary documentation will be provided to the selected freelancer, in addition to being added as a collaborator to the site. A screenshot of the main page we need to “turn on” is attached.
