Job Description

We are looking for a writer who knows how to research fast to write 1 travel guide (in US English) per week based on a detailed brief and outline. The article length will be around 1500 words. Payment is 20 USD per article.

If all goes well, this would increase to 2 articles per week in the long term.

Our detailed article brief will contain the outline, a few simple keywords, the required headings, and the questions we need answered.

Examples of articles are “Top Things To Do in Kuala Lumpur,” “Top Things To Do in Malta,” “Tower of London Travel Guide,” and “Visiting Mont Saint-Michel”.

What we are looking for:
– Quality travel writing
– Unique/non-copied content
– Writing in an informative but casual way
– Writing in the second person
– Content to focus on the quality of information for readers
– Knowledge of SEO
– Ability to meet deadlines

We are not looking for:
– Fluff and empty content (anything that doesn’t add value)
– You do not need to provide any photographs/images
– You do not need to provide any graphics

The ideal candidate knows what travel blogging is and understands the information required for independent travelers reading travel articles/guides to plan their future trips.

The ideal candidate understands the difference between a travel website and a travel blogger.

The ideal candidate knows how to research things fast. It is essential to the work we do.

The research we require will involve at least the following:
– Finding top things to do in destinations around the world
– Finding opening and closing times and ticket prices of attractions/museums
– Going through recent reviews by travelers on Google, TripAdvisor, and similar

The ideal candidate knows how to write informational content and smartly use keywords throughout the content for added SEO value.

The ideal candidate knows how to write easy-to-read content for most travelers, native and non-native English speakers. Avoid using words like kaleidoscope instead of easier-to-understand synonyms.

You are required to apply with a written example of at least 500 words. Due to previous experience, we can only look through applications with a written sample.

Please also include some examples from your previous work in the travel niche.

We would like you to choose one of the proposed destinations, pick 3 to 4 top things to do in that destination, and write about them while following the outline below.

Choose one of the following destinations:

Please do not write an intro or outro to the destination itself. Only focus on writing about the top things to do.
