Freight Dispatcher – DAT Load Board Experience Required!

Responsibilities:

Coordinate the scheduling and dispatching of freight trucks for pickups and deliveries
Monitor and track shipments to ensure timely arrivals and resolve any delays or issues that may arise
Communicate with drivers to provide instructions, updates, and address any concerns
Collaborate with customers to determine their shipping needs, provide quotes, and arrange transportation logistics
Maintain accurate records of all freight activities, including driver logs, shipment details, and billing information
Utilize transportation management software to streamline operations and optimize efficiency
Work closely with the operations team to ensure proper utilization of resources and maximize profitability
Stay up-to-date with industry regulations and maintain compliance with transportation laws and safety standards
Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in logistics or supply chain management is a plus
Proven experience as a Freight Dispatcher or in a similar logistics role
Strong knowledge of transportation logistics, including familiarity with different types of trucks and freight handling procedures
Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with a keen eye for detail
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with drivers, customers, and internal teams
Proficient in using transportation management software and computer systems
Ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions to resolve issues in a timely manner
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and compliance standards
