Front-End Developer – React.js, Material UI, Storybook, TypeScript

We’re looking for a developer to assist us in improving the overall quality of our UI Component Library.

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Front-End Developer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of industry trends and content management systems, with 4 years of experience in React, Material UI, Storybook, and TypeScript. The Front-End Developer will work closely with our product and design teams to develop and improve user interface components for our platform.

Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and test UI for mobile and web applications
Build reusable code and libraries for future use
Collaborate with our product management and design team to define and implement innovative solutions for product direction, visuals, and experience
Use Click to view, Material UI, Storybook, and TypeScript for developing user interface components and implementing them following well-known Click to view workflows
Translate designs and wireframes into high-quality code
Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability
Maintain updated knowledge of the development industry and any advancements in technology
Work with other team members to troubleshoot coding problems and to review coding and design features
Develop and maintain sufficient test coverage for all features
Qualifications:

4+ years of front-end development experience
Strong proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, including DOM manipulation and the JavaScript object model
Experience with Click to view, Material UI, Storybook, and TypeScript is required
Understanding of server-side rendering and its benefits and use cases
Knowledge of modern authorization mechanisms, such as JSON Web Token
Familiarity with modern front-end build pipelines and tools
Familiarity with code versioning tools, such as Git
Degree in Computer Science or similar field, or equivalent work experience
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a strong self-starter
Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Pay will be based on experience and hours available. $8 to $12 hr

We are hoping to have someone on board by August 1st.

Hours are 40 hours a week. We are flexible.

We are based in the EST time zone, seeking someone who can ensure some overlapping hours with our working hours for effective communication, especially during the initial stages of collaboration.

The first task will be to work with our core development team to explore the code base and set up your environment. Then, we’ll walk you through configuring our platform for each targeted use case. Lastly, for each use case, you would be responsible for the following:

Ensuring Responsive Design is followed per Material UI guidelines.

Configuring Storybook for each React Component

Make recommendations for new Components to be shared across use cases
