Hours: 39.5 per week – Mainly UK hours
As a Front-end UI Developer at Buy It Direct, you will play a critical role in creating the user experience across our websites. You will work closely with other developers, designers, and stakeholders to build interfaces that meet the needs of users and support business objectives.
You will use your expertise in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to build interfaces from Figma prototypes using our bootstrap based framework and design system.
— Responsibilities:–
– Build from Figma prototypes using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript where necessary.
– Work closely with our designers to ensure that prototypes are built to specification, are accessible and responsive.
– Collaborate with back-end developers on tasks where necessary.
– Write clean code that adheres to industry standards and best practices.
– Conduct testing and debugging of your work to ensure that it functions correctly and meets our browser compatibility needs.
– Optimize UI components for performance and scalability.
– Be responsible for the maintenance and improvement of our design system, working closely with our Web Design Lead and wider team.
– Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in front-end development and implement these where possible.
– Communicate effectively with team members and other stakeholders to ensure that project deadlines are met, join our daily stand-up meetings to discuss your work and any issues you may have come across in your tasks.
— Requirements:–
– 3+ years of experience in front-end web development, with a keen interest in UI development.
– Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript and/or jQuery.
– Strong proficiency in responsive web design and mobile-first development.
– Experience with agile development methodologies and tools such as JIRA.
– Excellent attention to detail.
– Knowledge of web accessibility standards and guidelines.
– Understanding of SEO best practices.
– Experience with popular front-end frameworks and libraries such as React and/or Angular are an advantage.
– WordPress and/or Shopify experience an advantage.
