Vortex Enterprises is a conglomerate of businesses, spearheaded by an owner who has been indirectly involved in web development his entire life. Currently all of our businesses are run by a custom built app that supports our various ventures coded by the founder. It serves as a one-stop solution for managing products, orders, client accounts, expenses, and more. Currently, we are on a mission to upgrade our front-end experience by transitioning to Vue, and we are seeking a skilled developer to lead this transformation.
About Me (Founder):
I have a unique journey that began with dropping out of school at 14 to pursue my passion for technology. I built a game hosting company from my bedroom, eventually selling the business at 17 to transition to a carpentry apprenticeship. Along the way, I’ve faced personal challenges and navigated the business world on my own terms. Now, I run multiple businesses, including Castles on Command and Next Generation Hoardings, supported by the custom-built app. My background in coding, coupled with my carpentry skills, has enabled me to craft the exact solutions that suit our needs. I value innovation, hard work, and sustainability, and I’m excited to bring someone on board who shares these values.
Role:
We are seeking a talented Full-Stack Developer with a focus on for frontend development and PHP for the backend. The ideal candidate will have a passion for coding and a desire to work in a collaborative environment. Your main responsibility will be to convert the existing PHP/HTML/CSS/JavaScript frontend to , making use of REST API calls to interact with the backend. Additionally, you will be involved in expanding the PHP backend to accommodate new features and services.
Responsibilities:
*Convert the current front-end of custom built app to using provided template
*Utilise REST API calls to display data throughout the app
*Collaborate with the owner to ensure alignment with the existing back-end logic & design and implement new features and enhancements.
*Continuously optimise the user experience and performance
*Assist in expanding and optimising the backend using PHP, Slim routing, and Eloquent
*Maintain code quality and adhere to best practices.
*Expand app to facilitate collaboration future team
Requirements:
*I am looking for a part time employee to work 20 hours a week, 4 hours a day (happy for you to work more as well).
*Strong experience with and modern JavaScript frameworks
*Proven experience in and PHP development.
*Knowledge of REST APIs and familiarity with PHP/HTML/CSS
*Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
*Ability to work independently
*Familiarity with database management.
*Ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
*Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Nice to Have:
*Experience with the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
Pay:
*TBD, this will depend on your level of skill & expertise, opportunities are available to advance, get bonuses and raises if you do good work.
