Full Stack Engineer, Remote

We are a self-funded Australian startup created by two entrepreneurs with 20+ years of experience in manufacturing industries, technology and finance. We have grown to a team of 8 staff over the past 2 years. Company culture is extremely important to us, we look forward to building a cohesive team that enjoys working and growing together. We are based in Sydney Australia and are on a mission to help small businesses in a specific niche improve their performance with higher income, time savings and a better future.

We have created a highly innovative ecosystem for a specific type of small business in a growing market with excellent tail winds. Our business combines a SaaS solution designed to solve the business needs this specific niche market, combined with a robust eCommerce marketplace (including our own manufactured products) and POS portal.

Our business model is the first B2B2C model of its kind in the industry blending wholesale product supply and retail POS with complex payment flows and an advanced booking system. Our roadmap includes a sophisticated dropshipping portal for 3rd party products, and integration of AI into the booking process and ML to uncover the buyer behavior of users and their customers.

The V1 has been developed by a third-party company and is now in beta testing with 10+ users successfully using the platform on a daily basis, we are now looking to build a team that will help realize our extensive roadmap to take on the giants of the POS industry both in Australia and then the USA. We have a scheduled “public launch date” in mid June 2023.

About the role
As our 2nd full-stack engineer working under our lead full stack and taking ownership of applications that were written by an external consulting company and making them our own. You understand complicated systems and the importance of building to a quality standard, as our platform integrates Stripe, Shopify, Xero, HubSpot, cin7, and databox along with all of our internal systems to provide a unified customer experience.

Strong DevOps skills are a high priority for this role – specifically in AWS Cloud Solutions

You’ll be in a growing team and your role will span across:
AWS infrastructure including CDK –
Customer appointment booking web application
Mobile app administration portal
Services that integrate with our payment, inventory and logistics partners
Development of a new drop shipping portal
Build infrastructure and systems that are reliable and easy to maintain
Design and maintain the entire AWS stack
Improve our continuous integration and delivery process
Ensure that our business logic is maintained across a complex web of systems
Software development, testing, and confident deployment to production
Requirements
3+ years of experience as a full-stack software engineer
Experienced with agile software development practices
A proven track record of architecting, implementing, deploying, and maintaining software applications
Proficient with web technologies like JavaScript, TypeScript and React
Proficient with backend and service technologies like NodeJS and Python
Proficient with AWS infrastructure and CI/CD workflows
Experience in communicating with customers to collect requirements and describe software features
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Experienced in using Git-based workflows in a team environment
A relationship-builder who is comfortable collaborating and communicating with clients, staff, and partners
