The Job:
You will be working extremely closely with two senior software engineers with 15+ years of experience based in Melbourne and Perth, Australia and a team of very talented developers in the Philippines.
If you are a backend developer/software engineer who is willing to undertake all aspects of the following tasks related to backend development:
– Establishing and maintaining AWS infrastructure
– Migrating and managing database data quality
– Developing code with strict formatting
– Readability and maintainability
– Overseeing testing and deployment pipelines from code reviews to testing
– Quality assurance and production deployment.
Responsibilities:
– Develop, test and deploy new features
– Participate in code reviews of themselves and others.
– Develop and maintain a clean and re-usable code structure
– Maintain database integrity during migrations or other SQL/ORM operations
– Identifying and troubleshooting software design problems.
– Enhance and continuously improve our software engineering processes, code structure, principles and guidelines and promote good practices in the development team.
– Help us to achieve code that is clean, highly maintainable and well tested.
Requirements:
– Reliable internet for meetings
– Full-time work hours and be able to attend meetings during Australian (AWST Timezone) business hours.
Skills/Knowledge:
– 2+ years experience in working as a backend developer
– A solid understanding of JavaScript
– Experience maintaining test suites (preferred)
– Experience with Typescript (preferred)
– NPM package manager
– Git version control and branching strategies
– Amazon Web Services (AWS) – optional
– Excellent analytical and multitasking skills with an ability to perform well in a dynamic work environment
