Job Description

At The Somatic School, we’re beginning to build our extraordinary operations team.

This is a rare opportunity to join a small (<15 people), profitable and growing company that’s achieving great things and making a meaningful impact in the world. About the role: Our company has seen tremendous growth in the last couple of years and we're now looking for someone to help us continue to deliver a supreme quality service for our participants. We are seeking a responsive, adaptable, and detail-oriented individual to join our team. We offer a rare career opportunity for the right candidate. You will be a true member of the team and will have opportunities to personally learn and develop, progressing with the business as it grows. To do well in this position, you will be highly accurate and efficient, a quick learner, a critical thinker, and a proficient English speaker/writer. The salary is very competitive and we offer good career prospects. You’ll also receive bimonthly pay. About The Somatic School: At The Somatic School we’re on a mission to help coaches access the wisdom of their bodies to become more confident, well-rounded helping professionals. Most coaching frameworks focus on the thinking mind, ignoring what the body is trying to communicate. The Somatic School teaches a body-and-mind-as-one approach to coaching. By helping coaches learn a powerful body-oriented framework they are able to help their clients become wholly themselves and feel fully alive. We are the UK’s first ICF accredited somatic coach training school and have a diverse community of coaches from all around the world. Check us out at: / JOINING THE SOMATIC SCHOOL: We’re looking for people who fit our values. 1. Joy in Service: In giving we receive Everything we do is in service of creating uncommonly beautiful experiences for our participants. We believe these experiences don’t just benefit the participants, but everyone involved – now and in the future. When the act of service itself is a joy, everybody wins. 2. Generosity of Spirit: In receiving we give At The Somatic School we believe that the spirit with which we receive other people has the power to support genius or diminish it. How can we be a generative presence in our interactions to bring out the best in each other? Every encounter counts. 3. Humility: Beginner’s mind At The Somatic School we recognise there is no one way, no one has it all figured out, and we are always learning. We are open-minded, hungry for feedback, and ask for help when we need it. We believe the best leaders follow, so we lead with curiosity. 4. Professionalism: Three Ps in a pod At The Somatic School we recognise the extent of our impact. Punctuality: We’re on time because it sets the tone. Preparation: We come prepared so we can be present and contribute. Presentation: We’re mindful of the aesthetic, pace and tone of everything that we do because everything is a communication. 5. Response-ability: If it isn’t resonant, it isn’t right For us, response-ability means listening for the feeling of inner rightness. We don’t proceed unless it feels like a fit. If it doesn’t feel right, we pause and check-in, speaking truthfully with care and curiosity for ourselves and each other. Response-ability is our responsibility. 6. Inclusion: No person (or part) left out All are welcome and all parts of all people are welcome too. Whether spiritual or secular, scientist or creative – you’re welcome here. Regardless of socio-economic background, ethnicity or culture – you’re welcome here. Good to go or ready for rest; a great success or a struggling mess; mad, sad or glad – it’s welcome here. 7. Simplicity: When it stops being simple, stop. Simple. At The Somatic School less is more. We begin everything with simplicity in mind. The more time we spend on something, the simpler it should become. If it’s not simple, we stop and simplify. 8. Permission to Play: Messy, Magic, Human We are willing to show our soft, authentic underbelly and create an environment where others feel safe to do the same. When we do, others observe that there is permission here to be imperfect, to be human, to learn and grow – and be celebrated in the process. We don’t just ‘say’ these are our values.
