Job Description

DyCom SmartStaff is looking for a fully remote Mid to Senior Accountant who plays a critical role in our business growth, culture, and operations.

The Mid to Senior Accountant will work across DyCom SmartStaff and its clients to carry out the following responsibilities:
• Manage the end-to-end accounting process using Reckon QuickBooks (Account Hosted version), including the month-end closing of multiple entities and preparing financial reports
• Perform Monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliations to identify errors and unusual transactions
• Manage day-to-day finance functions such as invoicing, processing of bills, etc.
• Ensure timely reconciliation of bank accounts and payment portals
• Handle day-to-day communications with the client and other stakeholders
• Preparation of fortnightly financial reports through a reporting and analysis tool
• Responsible for the accurate preparation and timely filing of BAS and PAYG (Australia)
• Work closely with the assigned client and perform accounting support/tasks as required such as client pricing, employee appraisal, supplier costing, and other accounting projects
• Prepare budgets and forecasts and analyze revenue and cost trends
• Conduct financial analysis to identify trends and anomalies, and interpret the results thereof
• Perform bookkeeping activities
• Assist in payroll
• Assist with Financial Paraplanning
• Other accounting tasks as deemed

The Mid to Senior Accountant role requires:
• Chartered Accountant applicants are preferred.
• Being a CPA is preferred but not a requirement.
• At least 5 years of work experience in a Financial / Management accounting position
• Highly proficient with MYOB, Reckon QuickBooks (Desktop version) & Xero accounting tools (inc. Xero Practice/Tax)
• Experience in Australian Annual Tax Returns is preferred
• Knowledgeable in Australian Accounting is preferred
• Has technical know-how in the preparation and review of data for BAS and PAYG
• Can work with minimal guidance and supervision
• Exceptional interpersonal and English communication skills, both verbal and written
• With highly developed and proven problem-solving skills
• Takes ownership of and personal accountability for decisions and actions; can seek guidance and advice when needed
• Highly adaptable and willing to learn how to use other task management and productivity applications
• Has confidence in dealing with a wide range of stakeholders both internal and external
