Hello, I am looking for a fulltime horror / creepypasta writer for my YouTube channel. You will be working from 9-5PM M-F Philippines time. Each story will be at least 5k words and written in fluent English.
Important note: Do NOT use big words. You need to very simply tell a story in normal language how you would tell a story to a friend. No big words at all.
Examples of what we’re looking for: I walked to the store and I saw something I’ll never forget.
Example of what I’m not looking for: I pondered thoughtfully as I ambulated down the darkly lit walkway, the shadows pulling nearer to me as if they were alive.
If you use big words, you’re immediately out of the selection process. A listening audience is not impressed by big words, they want simple, well-written stories.
If you don’t understand what I mean, go watch Mr. Ballen on youtube and listen to the words he uses. That’s what we’re going for. Very simple wording but a great heart of the story.
The story style will be similar to reddit nosleep:

The writing style must be simple and easily understood by all ages.
The ideal candidate should:
-understand how to write a story for a listening audience
-be able to write compelling yet easily understood scary stories. (You absolutely must keep the language simple. No big complicated words).
-follow style guidelines set by the team
-come up with creative and unique monsters, horror concepts, characters, and plot points
-collaborate and communicate with a team of other creatives
-adhere to strict deadlines
-have some knowledge of current creepypasta trends
-take feedback well
Important Note: You MUST write in a casual style, as if you were telling your friend about something scary that happened to you. Ask yourself “would I use this word?” when you’re writing the story. The goal is to talk casually to a listening audience, not to impress them with huge, never-used words.
Candidate cannot be in school or planning to work a 2nd job. This position requires full concentration.
