Overview: We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Grant Writer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in securing funding for our organization’s critical research initiatives, particularly in the field of diabetes. If you have a passion for scientific communication, a deep understanding of diabetes research, and expertise in crafting compelling grant proposals, we invite you to apply.

Responsibilities:

Write and edit grant proposals, focusing on specific aims, significance/impact, and technical approach sections.
Utilize expertise in diabetes research to effectively communicate the significance of proposed research and its potential impact.
Conduct thorough literature reviews to support grant proposals with relevant and up-to-date scientific evidence.
Collaborate with partners and stakeholders to acquire letters of support and endorsements for grant proposals.
Organize and prepare grant proposals, including creating a bibliography, citations, and developing illustrations and diagrams as needed.
Craft detailed technical approach sections outlining the methodology and research plan in a clear and compelling manner.
Utilize eCommons and other submission platforms to prepare and submit grant proposals, ensuring compliance with application guidelines and deadlines.
Continuously search for new grant opportunities aligning with the organization’s mission and research goals.
Take the lead in submitting accelerator applications and other specialized grant applications as required.
Review and edit grant proposals for clarity, grammar, and coherence, maintaining a high standard of quality.
Work collaboratively with the research team, partners, and stakeholders to gather necessary information and input for grant proposals.
Requirements:

Proven experience in grant writing, with a strong portfolio showcasing successful proposals.
In-depth knowledge of diabetes research and the ability to communicate its significance effectively.
Strong research and literature review skills to support grant proposals with scientific evidence.
Experience in acquiring letters of support and endorsements from partners and stakeholders.
Proficiency in organizing and preparing grant proposals, including bibliography and citations.
Familiarity with submission platforms like eCommons and expertise in meeting application guidelines and deadlines.
Proactive in searching for new grant opportunities aligned with the organization’s mission and research goals.
Previous experience in submitting accelerator applications and specialized grant applications is a plus.
Exceptional editing skills for maintaining the quality and coherence of grant proposals.
Effective collaboration skills to work with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Portfolio Requirement: Applicants must submit a portfolio showcasing their expertise in grant writing, including specific aims, significance/impact, and technical approach sections.

Compensation: $500-800 Monthly

Target Onboarding Date: We aim to onboard the successful candidate by January.
