Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Grant Writer to join our team and play a vital role in securing funding to support our organization’s mission and projects. As a Grant Writer, you will collaborate with various departments to research, write, and submit grant proposals to foundations, government agencies, and other potential funding sources. Your excellent writing skills, attention to detail, and ability to convey our organization’s goals and impact will be crucial in obtaining the necessary resources to drive our initiatives forward.

Responsibilities:
Grant Proposal Development:

Research and identify grant opportunities that align with our organization’s mission and projects.
Collaborate with program managers and other team members to gather information needed for proposal development.
Write clear, compelling, and persuasive grant proposals that effectively communicate our organization’s goals, objectives, and impact.

Grant Prospect Research:

Conduct thorough research to identify potential funding sources, including foundations, corporations, government agencies, and other relevant entities.
Evaluate eligibility criteria and guidelines of potential grants to ensure alignment with our organization’s initiatives.

Collaboration and Coordination:

-Work closely with program managers, finance, and other relevant departments to gather data and information for grant proposals.
-Coordinate with team members to ensure all proposal components are accurate, complete, and submitted within deadlines.

Proposal Submission and Follow-Up:

– Prepare and package grant proposals according to specific funder requirements and guidelines.
– Submit grant proposals through various channels, such as online platforms or by mail.
– Track and manage the submission process, ensuring timely follow-up and compliance with reporting requirements for awarded grants.

Grant Reporting:

– Assist in preparing interim and final grant reports, including impact assessment and financial documentation, as required by funders.

Grant Strategy and Relationship Building:

– Contribute to the development of a strategic approach to grant seeking, including identifying long-term funding opportunities and maintaining a grants calendar.
-Foster positive relationships with funders and represent the organization professionally in interactions with potential donors.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Nonprofit Management, or a related field
Proven experience in grant writing and securing funding from various sources, preferably within a nonprofit or similar setting.
Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to craft persuasive and well-structured proposals.
Strong research skills and ability to identify relevant funding opportunities.
Familiarity with grant databases and resources for prospect research.
Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software tools.
