Graphic Design Assistant (20 Hours per Week)

Universal Fans is an Australian retail business based in Melbourne specialising in ceiling fans and ventilation products, with multiple e-commerce stores. All of our ecommerce sites are maintained in house.
We are seeking a talented and creative Graphic Designer to join our team. You will be responsible for creating high-quality materials for a variety of scenarios, both digital and physical.
About the Role
Create high quality, modern graphic design assets as required. This will include digital elements such as; sales banners, infographics to support blog posts, social media graphics.
Collaborate with our Marketing team to understand project requirements and objectives.
Confidently work from supplied templates to create materials such as product packaging and spec sheets in line with our branding guidelines.
Maintain consistency in design elements to uphold our brand identity across all digital & print channels.
About You
Demonstrated expertise using Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop and Illustrator are a must. Ideally you would have 2-5 years of hands-on experience in digital design.
Be able to submit a strong portfolio showcasing your design skills and creativity.
A solid understanding of core design principles such as typography, colour theory, hierarchy, balance, alignment, and contrast.
A passion for creativity with a proven track record of creating eye catching, modern designs.
Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively collaborate with a team.
High level of attention to detail, including competency to ensure spelling and grammar is correct where required. You will need to work with precision.
Experience with WordPress or similar CMS would be advantageous but not essential.
Job details
– As we are based in Melbourne Australia, your working hours will be business days Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm (AEST – GMT+10). We are looking for an individual that is able to work 20 hours per week during these hours.
– You will be employed as a contractor on a 12-month contract arrangement.
– It is essential that you have full access to Adobe creative suite – you will be working with photoshop, InDesign and illustrator files on a regular basis.
– It is essential you have a home office set up, which includes a reliable and secure internet connection, and required equipment (which mainly includes a computer, appropriate software as well as equipment required for online meetings such as a web cam and microphone.
