Graphic Designer & Photo Editor AND/OR Video Editor

We are looking for one or two skilled individuals with really excellent English skills, a keen eye for detail and accuracy and excellent and reliable work ethic. You will need to have a LOT of common sense and be able to concentrate on the task at hand until completion.

You will have a fairly flexible schedule so you can fit work around your life as you live in a different time zone to us but part of your working day will need to be during the UK morning times.

This job may require two separate candidates – one to do the photo editing for products, social media and ads and possibly short form video such as reels – and a second person to do the longer form video (5 mins) using DaVinci Resolve. Using DaVinci Resolve for this work is a REQUIREMENT. We are not interested if you use an alternative editing software.

You may apply for either position or both. If you are only confident in photo & social media then state PHOTO in the first line of your application. If applying for the long form video editing then use teh word VIDEO in your application. If applying for both use the word BOTH.

PHOTO POSITION:
You should be able to manipulate photos, separate and add photos to backgrounds realistically, improve contrast and colouring understand resolution and be skilled in producing images for products with limited whitespace and consistent look. We prefer candidates who can use Photoshop and Canva and for video shorts we are less concerned with the editor used – Cap[cut etc.

You will also need to be able to use Canva to product flyers and inserts so have decent graphic design skills.

VIDEO POSITION
You will need to have substantial experience in video editing, be able to understand English to a fluent level and regularly work with Davinci Resolve, Photoshop & Lightroom, – Midjourney & ChatGPT a bonus and have your own access to these programs.

We expect you to have a high level of skill in video editing and be able to do basic photo editing for resolution, sizing and adjusting light, balance and colour for both video and photos. Videos are for a cooking website and photos will be mainly for social media and product shots. You will be expected to add in third party video clips and match the ‘look’ to the video using the extensive tools in DaVinci Resolve.

+Initial Position Overview.

We are an online seller with an extensive catalogue of pet products and also run a cooking website where the owner creates cooking videos to supplement the recipes and upload to Youtube.

Mostly you will be engaged in editing the raw footage to produce a professional completed video suitable for video upload for the cooking website.

We also envisage providing video footage that can be edited for video shorts and reels as well as advertising on Facebook for the pet website. These jobs will be intermittent so will require a block of hours each week / month.

The quantity of work will probably suit a person already with a full time job as extra part time income to augment earnings in spare time.

+Creative Talent – you will see that we included midjourney in the list of software that you should be familiar with. The reason for this is that occasionally we may require you to provide some imaginative elements within your work. We expect you to have more creative ability than us and to suggest where improvements can be made where sensible but also to have an understanding of the restraints of business.

Please note that as regards Photoshop we do not expect you to be an expert as the use of it will be on a basic level covering basic adjustments, masks and touching up, resizing, exporting etc. and not intense creative compositions.
