Job Description

The Job

I need a skilled, efficient graphic designer to make facebook ad images, google display images, and images to go into articles on my wordpress site. Other projects I’ve needed help with include webinar slides, flyers, banners, tee shirt designs, ebook covers, youtube thumbnails, featured image thumbnails, etc.

I will be needing images regularly for ads, my facebook group, my email marketing efforts, my wordpress articles, landing pages, product/sales pages, etc. There’s a lot of work to do so this could be a good fit for someone that’s tired of one-off gigs.

You’ll have access to a google drive folder and trello board that already has extensive documentation of past projects that you can base your work off.

This is NOT a job where you’re getting paid to learn how to design images. If you can’t do this work, don’t apply. If you plan on taking courses or watching YouTube videos to do this work, don’t waste my time.

Getting this job is simple. Show me you’re the person that I want.

Keeping the job is even simpler. Do the work.

BONUS: If you are also skilled at designing websites and landing pages using Elementor, then you’ll instantly go to the top of my candidates.

Other Work I May Need

— Email outreach with templates and instructions I’ll provide you.
— Customer service management using protocols and instructions I’ll provide.
— Managing Facebook ads and google ads. You’ll learn how to monitor campaign performance and turn off losing campaigns. It’s maybe 5 minutes of work every other day.

Notice my wording. “May Need.” I’m not expecting this of you right away, as the design work is my primary need right now.

About Me

I’m an online entrepreneur and music educator. I’ve been working on the look and designs for my digital courses and other products for a long time. I’m now gearing up to do regular marketing to build a consistent revenue in an evergreen market: the online guitar community.

I’ve hired several workers from this site with mixed success. I’m now needing to replace a longtime designer/VA.

About You

I need someone who has the following traits:

1) An extensive portfolio of images like those I’ve just described. I’m not interested in seeing anything else and will not consider hiring anyone who submits work unrelated to mine.

2) Proficiency in various design programs. I expect you to already have a reasonable amount of skill working in Photoshop, Canva, Adobe, or some other related program.

3) Is a good communicator! This means…..you respond to my messages in a timely manner, you tell me when/if you’re confused about the work you’re doing, you tell me when you need breaks, and anything else that you think I need to know. You should not ever assume I’m a mind reader and that I can read between the lines of your messages and communications.

4) Can work with very little supervision. I’m not interested in micromanaging you. I’m not here to tell you how to design something. That’ll be your job. You will need to provide regular updates twice a week, but other than that you’ll be on your own to do the work however you see fit.

5) Is easy to work with. What does this mean? You anticipate problems and correct them. You communicate regularly and often. If you have questions of me that Google may be able to answer, do that first. Use common sense.

6) Don’t turn in subpar work! If you use AI tools to create images I’ll notice it. If you create basic images with basic fonts and design elements, and use little imagination….I’ll call you out on it.

7) As you can see, I like to write things out. However sometimes I’ll need to do a recorded video via Loom. It’ll be your job to understand what I’m pointing out and possibly take notes if needed.

The Pay

At first, I’m only going to pay you per image, $5 a piece. However, I’ll pay you in bundles of 6 images.

If I like what I see, and you can demonstrate the qualities I want in you up above, then we’ll continue.

You will be on a trial period though. If you slip up, you’ll get one warning. If you slip up again for something you know you shouldn’t have done, then I will let you go and someone else will take over.

Don’t try to come into the messages and haggle these rates. I’ll remind you of what’s been said here. And if you try to up the rates after doing some initial work, you’re just going to piss me off.

If you’re willing to take on some of the other work I described up above, I’ll pay you a weekly rate of $30-$40.

What I Want From You Now

1) Write the phrase “absalom absalom” in the subject line of your message to me. Also confirm that you’ve seen the rates up above and agree to them. If you don’t do either of these things, I will not read the rest of your message or consider hiring you.

2) Provide a link where I can see your work. Also tell me what programs you use to create your images, as well as what kind of work you’ve done in the past.

3) Tell me about the problems you’ve had working with US based employers like myself.

4) Have you ever ghosted an employer before? Yes or no. If yes, why?

5) Is there any other work you’re doing that may interfere with my work? I’m only needing someone for about 2-3 hours a day at most.

6) Can I rely on you to stay organized, be easy to work with, and communicate well? Please explain to me in your own words how you’ll do this.

Thanks a lot for reading my job post and I’m looking forward to hearing from you soon.
