The Opportunity:
As the Medical Accountant in the team, you will be ensuring that our financial records are in excellent state from all angles of qualities e.g completeness, accurate, timely, relevant, comparable, verifiable, and understandable. You would be the backbone of the company’s source of financial data to enable us to make strategic business decisions, with a huge opportunity to develop new reporting guidelines and implement technologies/automation as the company grows.
You are ideally US-CPA qualified (or in the process of converting/becoming qualified) with great understanding of GAAP accounting standards and how it works in healthcare to succeed in the role. Prior experience in healthcare/ tele-health is nice to have to help you hit the ground running, although not a requirement.
Key Responsibilities:
? Account Receivable: perform payment posting, deposit reconciliation, batch reviews and adjustments. Reconciling claims payments with insurance companies or government agencies to ensure accuracy.
? Revenue Management: Work closely with Billing team to ensure all secondary claims, appeals, and receivables are managed and accounted for in timely manner
? Bookkeeping: Handle daily bookkeeping tasks such as recording and monitoring transactions, processing invoices, reconciling bank accounts, maintaining general ledger and tagging ensuring proper allocation and completeness of the financial data.
? Financial Reporting: working alongside Finance PGM to prepare and present financial statements ie. P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow in a timely and accurate manner.
? Internal Control: ensure the internal control policies are adhered to and it’s in alignment with company’s policies
? Compliance: staying up to date with accounting standards, tax regulations, and healthcare-specific issues that may affect company’s financial reporting and operations.
? Centre of Excellence: working with Finance PGM to look for ways to improve processes and implement new technologies/ SOPs that can increase the efficiency and enhance reporting capabilities in the organization.
Ideal candidates will thrive in fast-paced, evolving environments and demonstrate strong problem-solving, communication, and organization skills.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Partially/fully-qualified US-CPA license (conversion from another accounting body is acceptable).
Qualifications:
? 2-4 years experience in financial accounting/ reporting with full exposure of end-to-end record-to-report process and full set of financial reporting responsibilities.
? Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP )in healthcare settings.
? Comfortable with Xero/Quickbooks, AthenaHealth and other finance-operations/ finance
automations SaaS/softwares.
? Prior experience in health-tech/ tele-health/ hospital/ physician’s office/ clinics
? Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision as necessary, and alternately work
cohesively within a team environment.
? Strong oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with all levels of
management.
? Proficient in Microsoft Excel/Powerpoint, with aptitude to learn new software/systems as needed.
? Willing to work during US work hours (EST/PST Timezone).
