Job Summary
Priority Haulage is in search of an experienced and adept Truck Dispatcher to join our dedicated team. This role is vital in coordinating the scheduling and dispatching of our truck fleet. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, contributing significantly to our operational success.
Job Responsibilities
Fleet Coordination and Dispatch
• Schedule and dispatch trucks efficiently for on-time and accurate machinery deliveries. Jobs will be received in WhatsApp and loaded into MyTrucking as advised by the Operations Manager.
• Maintain clear communication with operations manager, providing timely instructions and updates.
• Engage in collaborative operations management using WhatsApp groups.
Operational Support
• Monitor truck locations via EROAD telematics software, promptly addressing delays or issues.
• Manage unexpected events to ensure minimal operational disruptions.
• Maintain compliance with pre-start checks and manage service notifications.
• Handle fleet and equipment management tasks.
• Prepare incident reports for sign-off using ChatGPT.
• Manage the ordering and inventory of PPE.
• Accurately record dispatch activities, including schedules and driver logs.
• Work with the Operations Manager to optimize fleet utilization and resource allocation.
• Seek opportunities to improve dispatch processes and efficiency.
• Efficiently manage the Notion database as required.
Reporting and Analytics
• Facilitate the development of dashboard information and reports for enhanced business intelligence.
• Engage in the creation and refinement of continuous improvement methodologies.
• Collaborate with the accounts department to coordinate and manage data analytics tasks as needed.
• Compile and provide insightful commentary for monthly management reports.
Compliance and Safety
• Adhere strictly to transport regulations and company safety protocols.
• Foster a culture of safety and adherence to best practices.
Knowledge and Experience
• At least 5 years of truck dispatch experience in a transport or logistics environment.
• Skilled in using dispatch software and GPS tracking systems.
• Proficient in multitasking and organizational tasks.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Capable of solving problems and making decisions effectively.
• Meticulous attention to detail in record-keeping and documentation.
• Knowledge of heavy machinery transport is an advantage.
Skills
• Communication Skills: Exceptional command of spoken and written English, capable of clear and effective communication.
• Computer Proficiency: Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with other relevant business and accounting software including:

o iAuditor
o EROAD
o Deputy
o WhatsApp
o Slack
o ChatGPT
• Time Zone Flexibility: Availability and willingness to work according to the New Zealand time zone as necessary.
o Our standard operating hours are 7AM – 5PM NZDT. The earlier you can be available PHT time the better.
o Limited availability is also required between 7:00-9:00PM NZDT to load jobs for the following morning.
