We are currently seeking a dedicated HOA Collection Specialist to join our dynamic team. This individual will play a crucial role in managing and executing the collection processes for homeowner dues and assessments, liens, and related delinquency and foreclosure activities.
Job Description:
The HOA Collection Specialist oversees and facilitates the collection of unpaid assessments, fees, and fines from homeowners within the communities we manage. This role requires a high level of professionalism, tact, and diplomacy to handle sensitive financial matters effectively while maintaining positive relationships with community members.
Responsibilities:
Manage and execute the collection process for delinquent accounts, including sending notices, making phone calls, and negotiating payment plans.
Coordinate with collection company or legal counsel on collection actions, including liens and foreclosures, ensuring compliance with state laws and HOA policies.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all collection activities, payments, and communications with homeowners.
Provide regular reports on the status of collections and recommend actions for unresolved accounts.
Work closely with the accounting department to reconcile accounts and apply payments accurately.
Develop and implement strategies to minimize delinquencies and improve the efficiency of the collection process.
Stay informed of changes in laws and regulations affecting HOA collections and recommend policy updates as necessary.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in finance, accounting, or related field is preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in collections, accounts receivable, or a related field.
Knowledge of HOA management and operations is highly desirable.
Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to handle sensitive issues diplomatically.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of legal processes related to debt collection and the ability to work with legal counsel effectively.
