Honest House is looking for a Video Editor (Remote) who is passionate about Post Production!

Hi! My name is Joshua and I run a small video production company in the western part of the United States. Our business is called Honest House. We serve other small to medium sized businesses by providing video and marketing content. This includes producing commercials for paid advertising, event video coverage, promotional & social media content, and educational videos for both internal and external business use.

I am looking for a Video Editor to join the team and to build a long term relationship with. Compensation will start at $800/mo. As we scale our team in the future, it would be great for you to grow into a leadership position if you want to and compensation would grow $2,000+ but it is not required.

Here is some more info about the position, requirements, and how we intend to operate:

— Experienced Editing in DaVinci Resolve is required. This will be our only NLE. We will use the Resolve remote collaboration features. Already owning DaVinci Resolve Studio Version is a plus.

– The main skill necessities here are as follows:

– The ability to use (or learn) the remote collaboration feature

– Organize media files & footage, manage storage of media.

– Create/edit rough cuts:
– Most of the editing projects will have slated clips for each take (such as YouTube videos,
Commercials, etc.), but sometimes we also have organic footage from an event or a creative
shoot that will need scrubbing.

– Some light sound work (professional sound skills are not required, but are a plus)
Such as:
– mixing audio levels
– dialogue
– sound design (sfx)
– music

– Multi-camera cuts. Usually a 2 camera setup, but sometimes 3-4.
– Currently, we sync in post using Resolve’s audio waveform sync function. However, in the
future we will implement timecode sync

– Color Grading Skills is a plus, but not required.

– Davinci Resolve Speed Editor is a plus, but not required.

– If you’re not an expert, that’s okay. I am happy to train you on anything you do not know. I am looking for motivated, quick learning individuals who want to establish a career in Post Production. – Our final salary agreement will be based on skills and experience.

– Must have complete fluency in English reading, writing, and speaking.

– You must be available and willing to work from 5am – 9am during your workday. However, you may create your own schedule with the rest of your workday.

I don’t need you to be a superhuman or anything, but I need you to believe in what you do and have integrity in your work. You work because you know it is a good part of life and a blessing to be able to provide for yourself and your family while growing your skills in the workplace. If you believe that work is just a means to an end, just to pay the bills while you hope for your “big break” to become famous, then this is not for you. If you just want to do the bare minimum to remain employed, then this is not for you. I’m looking for someone who wants to work together and make good things.
– Freelancers who want to take on extra clients. This is a full-time position and will be your only employer. If you desire to make more money with a higher salary, we can talk about that and create a plan for you to grow. But we will not accept less than your full professional attention.
