We seek meticulous and experienced HUD Auditors, skilled in both the For-Profit and Yellow Book Non-Profit sectors, to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will lead financial audits of entities participating in U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) programs. Your mission: ensure unwavering compliance with federal regulations, unearth financial discrepancies, and offer critical insights to clients and stakeholders.

Salary: $7.90 USD per hour

Schedule: 9 am to 5 pm, New Jersey EST

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Audit Mastery:

Strategically plan and flawlessly execute financial audits of For-Profit and Yellow Book Non-Profit organizations benefiting from HUD funding.
Surgically examine the organization’s internal controls, accounting systems, and financial statements for pinpoint accuracy, completeness, and ironclad adherence to HUD regulations.
Regulatory Vigilance:

Validate an organization’s strict observance of HUD program prerequisites, spanning the Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) program, Public Housing program, and Community Development Block Grants (CDBG).
Impeccably dissect contracts, leases, and agreements to confirm compliance with HUD’s stringent guidelines.
Data Detective:

Harness the power of data analysis to unearth financial anomalies, irregularities, and potentially fraudulent activities.
Assess an organization’s financial health, liquidity, and tenacity for long-term sustainability.
Crystal-Clear Reporting:

Prepare comprehensive audit reports, crystallizing findings and offering laser-focused recommendations while meticulously addressing compliance concerns.
Guarantee all work papers, documents, and audit reports adhere to Yellow Book standards and other pertinent auditing benchmarks.
Client Collaboration:

Share audit findings and recommendations with clients, engaging with management and top-tier executives.
Offer expert counsel on corrective actions and golden practices for impeccable HUD compliance.
Regulatory Prowess:

Continually master and interpret evolving HUD regulations, policies, and guidelines to keep audit processes razor-sharp and unwaveringly compliant.
Decode and apply federal, state, and local regulations with precision.
Team Synergy:

Actively collaborate with audit dream teams and seamlessly integrate with cross-functional departments to foster streamlined, high-impact audit processes.
Mentor and enlighten junior auditors, shaping the future of precision auditing.
Qualifications:

Hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPAs or Certified Internal Auditors (CIAs) stand out as exceptional candidates.
Boast a minimum of 2 years of Housing and Urban Development auditing experience, showcasing a remarkable track record in HUD audits for both For-Profit and Yellow Book Non-Profit organizations.
Be a master of auditing standards, including the notorious Yellow Book and the universally embraced Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS).
Possess an encyclopedic knowledge of HUD programs, regulations, and compliance mandates.
Command outstanding analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Exhibit proficiency in wielding audit software, the Microsoft Office Suite, and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks).
Cultivate an unyielding eye for detail and the versatility to operate autonomously or as the driving force behind a team.
