As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dedicated Payroll and Billing Officer to join our dynamic team.
Position Overview:
The Payroll and Billing Officer will play a pivotal role in ensuring the precision and efficiency of payroll and billing processes within our company. This position demands meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a comprehensive understanding of the NDIS. The ideal candidate must be eager to acquire the necessary knowledge and materials provided by the NDIS and should be comfortable working closely with the supervisor/manager and other internal team members. This job requires extensive communication and collaboration with internal team members.
Key Responsibilities:
Calculate wages, deductions, and bonuses based on employee timesheets, contracts, and relevant regulations
Ensure compliance with Australian labor laws and regulations, including taxation, superannuation, and award rates
Prepare and submit payroll tax returns, PAYG withholding, and other statutory requirements to relevant authorities
Reconcile payroll data, resolve discrepancies, and respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees and management
Maintain accurate records of employee leave, overtime, allowances, and other payroll-related information
Stay up-to-date with changes in legislation and industry trends affecting payroll processing and compliance
Assist in the preparation of payroll reports, budgeting, and forecasting as needed
Collaborate with HR and finance teams to streamline payroll processes and improve efficiency
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field (preferred)
Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or similar role, with a minimum of 1 year of experience within the NDIS or similar industry.
In-depth knowledge of Australian labor code, taxation laws, superannuation requirements, and award rates
Experience with payroll software and systems (e.g., MYOB, Xero, ADP)
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications
