POSITION SUMMARY

We’re excitedly looking to fill our first Human Resource (HR) Generalist position. This will be a new role within the company. We are excitedly looking for a positive and inquisitive HR Generalist, who loves streamlining processes and problem-solving. Furthermore, someone who will take HR duties off leadership’s plate while ensuring that HR operates efficiently and smoothly as directed. In addition, the new HR Generalist will support executive leadership and management regarding HR matters including, but not limited to recruiting, performance management, training and development, benefits, payroll, and reports/documents drafting.

The ideal candidate will be proactive and have experience handling a wide range of human resources tasks. This individual must be exceedingly well organized, flexible, must have excellent attention to detail, is able to work independently with little or no supervision, and must enjoy the challenges of supporting a company of diverse people.

POSITION DETAILS

Type: This is a permanent part-time role requiring 20-30 hours per week.
Location: Remote

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

– Recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for role openings.
– Track staffing requirements and hiring needs as applicable
– Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments.
– Implement new hire orientation and employee onboarding and transition programs.
– Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to
compensation, payroll, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; and training and development.
– Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
– Attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
– Maintain organized employee files and HR records.
– Ensure company compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews relevant policies and practices to maintain compliance.
– Assist with developing, maintaining, and streamlining of company policies, procedures, and employee handbooks, and ensure they are implemented appropriately after approval and making sure all governance files are complete and organized as expected by document owners.
– Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
– Anticipate blockers, proactively manage risks, and make tradeoffs as conditions change.
– Manage internal staff relations and maintain a positive working environment while.
– Help promote a company culture and company core values that encourages top performance and high morale.
Perform other duties as required.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

– Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
– At least 5 years of human resource management experience is preferred.
– Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
– Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
– Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
– Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
– Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
– Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
– Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, respect, and confidentiality.
– Ability to contribute as a team player, promoting a positive and professional work environment
– Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
– Proficient with Google Workspace
– Proficiency with HRIS and talent management systems.
