About This Position
The Human Resources Coordinator reports into the Director of Human Resources and is responsible for the day-to-day administration tasks.
Responsibilities:
Administers health and welfare plans, including enrollments, changes and terminations
Processes required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper deductions
Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions
Completes Forms I-9, verifies I-9 documentation and maintains I-9 files
Assists with new-employee background checks
Conducts audits of payroll, benefits or other HR programs and provide recommendations
Assists with processing of terminations
Assists with the preparation of the performance review process
Assists with recruitment and interview process
Tracks status of candidates in HRIS and responds with follow-up letters at the end of the recruiting process
Schedules meetings and interviews as requested by the director of HR
Makes photocopies; mails, scans and emails documents; and performs other clerical functions
Files documents into appropriate employee files
Assists or prepares correspondence as requested
Prepares new-employee files
Assist in onboarding and orientation
Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
-4 years experience in Human Resources working for a US or Canada based team
-Self-motivated and focused with a high-level of attention to detail and sense of urgency
-Proven ability to communicate, both verbally and written, with people at all levels of an organization
-Must be computer literate with proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Gmail, Google Meet, HubSpot, Canva with -the ability to learn new computer systems and software
-Proven ability to manage multiple tasks while working independently
-Have a real passion for protecting our environment and the ocean
