Job Summary:
The Human Resources Specialist will play a crucial role in managing our human resources operations and contributing to the development of HR policies and procedures that align with the company’s goals and legal requirements. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in HR practices, with an in-depth understanding of Canadian labor laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
– Implement and manage HR strategies, systems, tactics, and procedures across the organization.
– Oversee recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes to ensure a smooth and welcoming introduction for new employees.
– Administer employee benefits, payroll, and other HR programs, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal standards. –
– Experience with ADP systems will be considered an asset.
– Provide support and guidance on labor law compliance, particularly with respect to Canadian regulations, acting as a point of contact for employment law issues.
– Develop and implement HR policies to promote an inclusive and productive workplace culture.
– Conduct performance management and employee evaluation processes to support employee development.
– Handle employee relations issues, mediating disputes, and implementing disciplinary actions as necessary.
– Collaborate with management to identify and address training and development needs.
– Stay informed on industry trends and employment legislation to ensure company policies remain current and compliant.
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
– Proven experience in Human Resources, with specific experience in payroll systems, preferably ADP.
– Knowledge of Canadian labor laws and regulations is considered an ideal qualification.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential matters diplomatically.
– Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
