Responsibilities:
– Manage the invoicing process and communicate with clients regarding billing and payment inquiries.
– Handle all aspects of ASIC administration, including checking annual reviews and preparing necessary forms.
– Assist in the incorporation and establishment of various business entities such as companies, trusts, and SMSFs. Understand and create diagrams of group structures as needed.
– Manage stamp duty requirements with the Office of State Revenue (OSR) for relevant transactions.
– Apply for ABNs, TFNs, and GST registrations as required for clients.
– Conduct bank reconciliations, maintain general ledgers, and manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks efficiently.
– Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including monthly reconciliations, and process transactions up to the trial balance stage.
– Prepare financial statements for lodgment with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) and assist with the preparation of monthly or quarterly management accounts and reports.
– Prepare and lodge BAS (Business Activity Statement) on time.
– Prepare superannuation, salary, and Single Touch Payroll (STP) reports accurately and in compliance with regulations.
Tax Return Preparation: Assist with the preparation of tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts, and partnerships, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant tax laws.
Requirements:
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. CPA or CA certification preferred.
Proven experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or a similar role, preferably in an Australian context. Experience with ASIC administration and Australian tax laws is highly desirable.
Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, or QuickBooks. Familiarity with Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail, especially when dealing with financial data and compliance documents.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with clients, team members, and regulatory authorities effectively.
Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines efficiently.
Ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide insights to support decision-making processes.
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality, integrity, and ethical conduct in all financial activities and client interactions.
Ability to adapt to changing regulatory requirements and client needs in a dynamic business environment.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and provide support to colleagues as needed.
