Job Description:
Are you a tech-savvy individual with a passion for managing IT infrastructure and ensuring the smooth operation of web servers and network security? If so, we are looking for an IT Administrator to join our team. As an IT Administrator, you will play a critical role in maintaining and optimizing our web servers, configuring firewalls, and managing our server operating system (Ubuntu Linux).
Key Responsibilities:
1. Web Server Management:
• Administer, configure, and maintain web servers, including Apache, PHP, Python, and MySQL, to ensure high availability and optimal performance.
• Monitor server performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
• Implement security best practices to protect web applications and data.
2. Firewall Configuration:
• Configure and manage firewall rules to protect the network infrastructure from unauthorized access, cyber threats, and malware.
• Regularly review and update firewall rules to adapt to evolving security threats.
3. Server Operating System:
• Manage and maintain Ubuntu Linux server operating system.
• Apply security updates, patches, and system upgrades as necessary.
• Troubleshoot and resolve OS-related issues.
4. Network Administration:
• Collaborate with network engineers to ensure the network infrastructure is reliable and efficient.
• Assist in the implementation of network-related projects and configurations.
5. Backup and Recovery:
• Develop and maintain backup and recovery strategies to safeguard critical data and applications.
• Test and execute backup and recovery procedures as needed.
Qualifications:
• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience in managing web servers, with expertise in Apache, PHP, Python, and MySQL.
• Strong knowledge of configuring and maintaining firewalls.
• Proficiency in administering Ubuntu Linux or other Linux distributions.
• Familiarity with network administration and security protocols.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Network+, or similar, are a plus.
• Must have your own laptop/computer with a stable internet connection.
Location and Hours/Schedule:
• Remote work setup
• You will primarily be responsible for the morning shift, although the schedule may include variations such as the night shift, running from 12:00 AM to 9:00 AM PH Time, and the day shift, scheduled from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM PH Time (Tuesday to Saturday). Schedule adjustments will be made based on prior agreement and discussions with HR, the Department Head, and top Management.
• The IT Admin must be available online at any time of the day for urgent needs
• Comfortable with using a time tracking application
