Our family is growing and we’re looking to add on a ROCKSTAR video animator who also has experience in video editing (part-time/full-time) to our team. This is an excellent opportunity to get your foot in the door with a rapidly growing company.
Job Summary:
The video animator/editor will be responsible for creating custom animations for our clients to use on social media, websites, etc. They will also be editing videos for small businesses social media marketing. This job will have you working on new weekly projects for many US-based companies. This will involve reading a project brief (English), and then bringing the client’s vision to life through custom animation. For video editing, you will be required to download/upload large files of content, cut and edit the film, manage, splice scenes, and insert music/sound/text/effects until it meets the client’s approval. Essentially you will be the project manager for each new video production. This includes having a significant amount of creative control and freedom over each project. This is role requires commitment, responsibility, communication, organization, and a high level of attention to detail! Your ability to do the little things right, read instructions thoroughly and communicate with our team will determine your success! These things are much more important than your technical ability to edit video. Primary Responsibilities (animator):
• Using software and other techniques to produce animations
• Listening to feedback and altering animations to suit client needs
• Ensuring that the final product aligns with the needs of the client and is delivered on time
• Presenting the final animated piece to clients for their approval
• Using creativity and artistic techniques to tell a story or provide information in a visual form
• Researching industry trends and developments and learning new applications
• Applying voice-overs & subtitles to video content where needed
• Edit video recordings to a very high standard until it meets the team’s specifications, in order to produce material for campaigns, events, interviews, corporate training videos, and other video-based projects.
Primary Responsibilities (video editing):
• Color correct VLOG & SLOG footage
• Sound mastering & ability to work with multiple audio sources
• Source background music and audio from online sources
• Create and edit motion graphics to an excellent standard
• Watch and rearrange scenes and determine which will end up on the editing timeline.
• Work with and manipulate raw camera footage, dialogue, sound effects, graphics and special effects.
• Insert music, sound, text, and effects and determine which camera angles to use.
• Organize footage and communicate through Whatsapp, Asana, Loom & Zoom (video call) with team members.
Secondary Responsibilities:
• Edit stills, create graphics, and retouch as needed for video intros/outros.
• Create thumbnail images & social media graphics
• Check films for damage.
• Purge damaged or old tapes.
• Accurately archive existing video assets and create archiving standards for future use, such as naming content, file size and type requirements.
• Create video animations
• Pull background music & footage from the internet to include in edits.
Application Requirements:
• Ability to share an example of your work of each type of animation you have experience with.
o 2D, 3D, and stop-motion animations
o White Board, explainer, animated typography, motion graphics, whiteboard, etc.
• Provide a minimum of 5 video samples that showcase your capabilities.
o Feel free to include a link to your online portfolio if applicable.
• At least 2 years work experience (acceptations can be made for those with )
• Ability to store large files on Google Drive / Cloud
• Ability to upload and download large video files promptly
• Meet hard deadlines
• Communicate with team members via WhatsApp & email
• Ability to make one short weekly Zoom meeting on camera
• Manage multiple client projects in Asana
• High-speed internet (upload and download)
