Independent Contractor Opportunity: Figma Design Specialist

We’re looking for a talented and detail-oriented Figma Design Specialist to join our creative team as an independent contractor. As a Figma Design Specialist, you will be responsible for creating design systems and advanced templates in Figma, building upon existing designs. Your creativity and technical expertise will help build visually appealing websites that align with our organizational goals.

Responsibilities:
– Create fully integrated design systems in Figma using the programs’ variables, styles, components, and variants to create modular site templates.
– Build site components and templates using responsive auto-layout techniques.
– Design wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to effectively communicate design concepts and user flows.
– Develop responsive and user-friendly web designs using web best practices.
– Stay up-to-date with design trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to continuously improve and innovate in web design.
– Prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality work.

Required minimum independent contractor qualifications include, but are not limited to:
– You must be fluent in English (writing, speaking, and reading.)
– Proven work experience using advanced Figma tools, showcasing a strong portfolio of web design projects.
– An excellent understanding of fluid responsive design and mobile-first principles.
– Strong knowledge of Figma or similar design software (XD, Sketch).
– Strong understanding of UX/UI design principles with an eye for design aesthetics and attention to detail.
– Basic understanding of SEO principles and web accessibility standards (WCAG) to ensure inclusive and search engine-friendly web experiences.
– Possess excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively present design concepts and ideas to technical and non-technical team members.
– Self-motivation and organization are key. We’re looking for an independent contractor who can work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
– Our company operates within the Eastern Time Zone in the US from 8 AM to 5:30 PM*. While we request that our independent contractors be available within this timeframe to ensure effective collaboration and communication, it remains at the sole discretion of the contractor to determine the methods, details, and means of performing the services to meet all agreed-upon deadlines and requirements.

* Additionally, please note that service hours for this independent contractor opportunity will not exceed 40 hours per week unless prior approval is obtained from our CEO or a designated company representative.
