Job Description:
The Interconnections Engineer plays a pivotal role in overseeing interconnection applications and providing essential support to the Sales, Engineering, and Construction departments for commercial and multifamily projects within California. This key team member is tasked with ensuring the efficient and precise approval of interconnection applications while offering expert guidance on all interconnection requirements. The ideal candidate is a hybrid of a computer engineer and a financial analyst, adept at writing code and understanding financial statements, bridging the gap between technical engineering and financial analysis.
Core Responsibilities:
Manage interconnection applications for commercial and multifamily solar projects in California, ensuring compliance with regulations.
Prepare and submit accurate interconnection applications to utility companies and coordinate for timely approvals.
Stay updated on changes in interconnection regulations and requirements.
Resolve interconnection-related issues by coordinating with utility companies and stakeholders.
Provide guidance and support to internal departments for interconnection tasks.
Conduct technical analysis of interconnection issues and offer solutions.
Communicate with project stakeholders on interconnection matters and maintain documentation.
Execute Interconnection Agreements and monitor progress.
Support solar energy projects’ interconnection process, including research and compliance adherence.
Collaborate with internal teams to gather information for solar interconnection applications.
Monitor and track the progress of solar interconnection applications, addressing issues proactively.
Maintain accurate documentation and records related to solar interconnection activities.
Coordinate with external stakeholders to ensure smooth solar interconnection processes.
Provide administrative support to the solar interconnections team.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as Computer Engineering or Finance.
Strong interest in solar energy and sustainable development.
Excellent organizational skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for interaction with internal and external stakeholders.
Collaborative mindset with the ability to build positive relationships in a team environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and project management software.
Familiarity with solar interconnection processes, regulations, and policies is advantageous.
Adaptability to changing priorities and the capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to work autonomously.
