Job Title: Internal Support Estimator – Mechanical Systems
Location: Remote – Australian based company

Job Description:

The Internal Support Estimator will be responsible for supporting internal teams by selecting, designing, and estimating mechanical systems and associated controls for various projects. This role requires a deep understanding of mechanical engineering principles, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with internal departments.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Internal Project Estimation:
-Analyze internal project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates.
-Identify and quantify cost factors, such as production time, materials, and labor expenses.
-Develop detailed estimates for mechanical systems and associated controls.

2. System Selection and Design:
-Select appropriate mechanical systems and components based on project requirements.
-Design mechanical systems, ensuring they meet performance, reliability, and efficiency standards.
-Collaborate with the internal engineering team to integrate mechanical systems with other project components.

3. Control Systems Integration:
-Design and specify control systems that complement the mechanical systems.
-Ensure control systems meet project requirements and are compatible with selected mechanical systems.

4. Collaboration and Communication:
-Work closely with internal departments, including engineering, sales, and project management teams, to ensure estimates are accurate and align with project goals.
-Participate in internal project meetings to provide insights on cost estimates and system designs.
-Communicate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain and validate cost information.

5. Documentation and Reporting:
-Prepare detailed reports and presentations to support estimates and designs.
-Maintain accurate records of all estimation and design activities.
-Update estimation and design databases as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
-Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

Experience:
-Minimum of 5 years of experience in estimating and designing mechanical systems.
-Proven experience in the HVAC, refrigeration, or a related industry is preferred.

Skills:
-Proficiency in estimation software and tools.
-Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and practices.
-Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
-Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
-Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
-Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Certifications:
Relevant industry certifications are a plus.
